WHY I'M NOT A CLARINET Tutor
The word tutor means "a private teacher, typically one who teaches a single student or a very small group." That is a very simplified version of what I do. However, the modern use of that term implies that the student has a deficiency that needs be learned. I like to think of myself more as an enrichment teacher or coach. Instead of focusing on what is lacking, I focus on broadening the student's possibilities. Coaching can be defined as "a form of development in which an experienced person, called a coach, supports a learner or client in achieving a specific personal or professional goal by providing training and guidance." Words that stand out to me are goal, training and guidance. I help students students define their goals, and I teach them skills which will guide them towards success!
